Canyon of the Eagles Resort is a beautiful resort located in the Texas Hill Country overlooking Lake Buchanan. Centrally located within an easy drive to many outdoor adventures this is an ideal base of operations for a Hill Country vacation. On site you can advantage of the swimming pool, numerous hiking trails, kayaking, movies under the stars, live music, and craft activities for the kids. Check out the Observatory and look at the stars. Participate in nature talks and nature walks. Take some gear and fish off of the dock. There is also a restaurant on site with a beautiful view of the lake. Such a beautiful view.

My favorite adventure is kayaking to Fall Creek Falls on Lake Buchanan. The spring fed waterfalls are a 4-mile paddle from Canyon of the Eagles Resort on a remote section of the lake. Once you reach the falls you should relax and enjoy the water spilling over the cliffs into the lake. Kayak behind the falls, kayak under the falls, or jump in the water and swim under the falls.

From Canyon of the Eagles you are close to many other adventures. Drive 1 hr. 20 minutes to Colorado Bend State Park and hike to another beautiful spring fed waterfall.

Within thirty minutes you can visit Inks Lake State Park and jump off the cliff into the lake at Devil’s Water Hole.

Or take a wild cave tour at Longhorn Caverns State Park. How about a canopy tour with Cypress Valley Canopy Tours? Maybe you should try the waterfall at Krause Springs.

Are you into wine? There are several wineries within 30 minutes: Perissos Vineyards, Torr Na Lochs Vineyard and Winery, Spicewood Vineyards, and El Gaucho Winery. Try a brewery or some distilleries: Flanigan’s Texas Distillery and Winery, Iron Wolf Ranch and Distillery, and Save the World Brewing Co.

Canyon of the Eagles has cabins, lodge rooms, and RV camping available.

Approximately 2 hours from both Austin and San Antonio and approximately 3 hours from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Texas Hill Country.
