Stone Mountain Park

Stone Mountain Park 38 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia is an exciting vacation destination with activities for the entire family. Hike to the top of the mountain and enjoy the scenic views.

Or take the

Summit Skyride

to the top of the mountain and see a great view of the carving. On top you can also see the Atlanta skyline and the Appalachian Mountains. Ride both ways or ride up and hike down. It’s a wonderful walk down with bus transportation at the bottom to take you back to your car.
While you are there be sure and take a ride on

The Scenic Railroad

and enjoy a five-mile excursion around the mountain in open-air cars while you take in beautiful views of Stone Mountain and the surrounding landscape.
And try the

Rockin’ Land & Lake Tour

. It is a guided, interactive journey through Stone Mountain Park. Each trip is led by an expert tour captain for a one-of-a-kind experience every time you ride!
If you are there in the summertime you won’t to miss the

There are several restaurants in the park and many more in the nearby town of Stone Mountain just outside the park. My favorite restaurant was The Commons inside the park. Sit on the patio with a gorgeous view of the lake and the mountain. While you are here you might consider a side trip to the Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta. You’ll be glad you did.
