Moab, Utah is the outdoor enthusiasts dream. Go there to hike, bike, raft, kayak, climb, and rappel. Go there to ride a jeep or UTV on amazing trails. Go there to enjoy National Parks with breathtaking scenery, beautiful sunsets, and stunning rock formations. Moab means adventure.

Arches National Park

Arches NP is the number one destination in the Moab area. There are 2,000 arches in the park, along with many other unique rock formations. There are numerous hiking trails of varying levels which will lead you to these incredible rock formations. Start with Balanced Rock and the move on to the Windows area. On one side of the parking lot you can an easy hike to North and South Windows and Turret Arch. One the other side of the parking lot there is a short hike to Double Arch. Double Arch is the featured image at the top.

A more difficult hike will take you to famous Delicate Arch.

You might also want to hike to Landmark Arch and try the Park Avenue Trail, and Devil’s Garden Trail.

Canyonlands National Park

Go to Canyonlands for the spectacular views, Mesa Arch, and Schafer Road. It’s about an hour from Moab. Are you brave enough to drive on Schafer Road? You’ll need 4-wheel drive.

Dead Horse Point State Park

One the way back to Moab be sure and stop at Dead Horse Paint Park. Great views, mountain biking, and the place where “Thelma and Louise” drove off the cliff in the movie. You can also take the Potash Road back to Moab. It’s a winding road with numerous switchbacks like the Schafer Road. It will also require 4-wheel drive.
